 服貿爭議至今已經有好幾個月，台大經濟系的鄭秀玲教授在提出反對意見的時候，

引述了諾貝爾經濟學獎得主Joseph Stiglitz的銘言，究竟他說了什麼？

Joseph Stiglitz 的這一段敘述發表在2013年的Taipeitimes，為反對「跨太平洋戰略經濟夥伴關係協議」而提出。

他認為此協議 「presented "grave risks" and it "serves the interests of the wealthiest."」，

意思是「呈現嚴重風險，並且提供利益給最富有的一群」，他說：

There are a few basic principles that those entering the discussions will, one hopes, take to heart. 

（有一些基本的原則，想要討論這個議題的人會在意，我希望）

First, any trade agreement has to be symmetrical. 

（第一，任何貿易協定都需要是對等的。）

Second, no trade agreement should put commercial interests ahead of broader national interests, especially when non-trade-related issues like financial regulation and intellectual property are at stake. 

（第二，沒有任何貿易協定應該將商業利益擺在國家利益之前，特別是無關貿易的議題，像是金融監管和智慧財產危在旦夕。）

Finally, there must be a commitment to transparency, but those engaging in these trade negotiations should be forewarned.

（最後，一定要對透明化做出承諾，參與貿易協商的人需要事先被告知）
