今天要分享的俗諺是It is better to win the peace and to lose the war，中文可以翻成「寧願贏得和平而輸掉戰爭」，

今天我們要藉著這句俗諺繼續討論英文文法一個非常重要的詞類：形容詞。

形容詞就是形容、修飾代名詞和名詞的字。上次討論到形成形容詞的各種方式；

這次我們要來實際運用形容詞，詳細討論形容詞句型。形容詞句型有以下幾種：

句型一、be + 形容詞 + 不定詞（to～）

It is better to win the peace and to lose the war

I am so happy to see you.

我很高興見到你。

She is excited to see hear that she got accepted to her dream school.

她聽到她獲得夢想學校的錄取，很興奮。

Your students are afraid to take the final exam.

你的學生很怕期末考。

句型二、be + 形容詞 + 介係詞 + 受詞

 1.      be afraid of 害怕

I am afraid of your boss.

我很怕你的老闆

She is afraid of your dog.

她很怕你的狗

 2.      be fond of 喜歡

He is fond of math.

他很喜歡數學

I am fond of music

我很喜歡音樂

 3.      be jealous of 忌妒

My daughter is jealous of yours, because yours has a new computer.

我的女兒很忌妒你的女兒，因為你的女兒有一台新電腦

Don’t be jealous of other people’s success, for they have worked hard to earn it.

不要忌妒別人的成功，因為他們也是努力才有此成就。
